Sunday Worship

We currently share space with the Olive Branch Church in Roseville, California. We meet every Sunday at 4pm for worship. You are welcomed to join us – Visit our “How to find us” page for directions.
Worship in Word
We preach the Bible for what it is, God’s perfect Word. We believe, as the Puritans said, that “hard words produce soft hearts, and soft words produce hard hearts.” We want to see hearts softened and so we teach the Bible for what it is – God’s self revelation to broken sinners. We typically teach expositionally (verse by verse) and from the English Standard Version.
Worship in Music
With music, our goal is to worship God whole-heartedly and authentically. The Bible describes worship in many ways – in silence and with noise, standing, sitting, kneeling, even falling on your face. As we sing we respond to who God is and what he has done by honoring him. Please worship God along with us with all your heart.
Worship in Communion
Everything in our worship service is moving toward our time of communion. Scripture calls this the Lord’s Supper and it is our continual remembrance of Jesus’ sacrificial death on our behalf on the cross. At Veritas, we participate in the Lord’s Supper every week. if you are a baptized Christian who is continually and consistently walking in obedience to God in light of the gospel of Jesus Christ please participate in communion with us. (1 Corinthians 11:27-32). Typically, after the sermon portion of our service, we have two couples stand at the front of the room and serve people as they come forward.
Worship in Giving
Giving is an important part of our worship. Before Christ, followers of God were commanded to give certain percentages of their income out of obligation. In the New Testament God tells us to give liberally, to be generous, sharing with others, and to do so with humility not to be noticed by others. We give because as we consider the gospel we realize how God has given to us. If you’re visiting with us please don’t feel obligated to give. But if you make Veritas your church home, we encourage you to be faithful to give regularly and generously as a part of your worship experience. We don’t pass offering plates; rather, we have a black box in the back of our worship room where you can put your gift at any portion of the service.
Worship as Families
The Bible consistently teaches us that the responsibility of training kids to hope in God belongs primarily to the parents. In order to facilitate this at Veritas we encourage families to worship together on Sunday mornings. For the first part of our service (the music portion), we ask that parents keep their children with them. Children are then dismissed during the meditation time prior to preaching to go to the respective classes.
